As part of the Erasmus+ TELL Youth project, young participants had the opportunity to take part in a field research activity organized by the House of Education and Innovation (HEI) Association, the Constanța County Cultural Center “Teodor T. Burada”, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Agricultural Sciences (UOC).

The event began with a visit to the almond orchard “Calin File din Poveștile Mălinei”, where participants admired the blooming trees and cultural heritage artifacts. The young people were fascinated by the display of traditional items, including an authentic wood-burning stove with a cooktop and other household tools, reflecting old local traditions and craftsmanship.
Afterwards, the group traveled to Casian, where they embarked on a guided nature hike. During the expedition, the young participants identified various plant species, photographing them to contribute to the creation of a digital herbarium. This activity was an excellent opportunity to combine theory and practice, providing participants with the tools to recognize and document the region’s specific flora.

In addition to the botanical identification activities, the young people had the chance to engage in discussions with an agricultural expert, who shared valuable knowledge about different crops and proper soil care methods. The experience was not only a lesson in botany and agriculture but also a journey into the cultural values of the region, strengthening the connection between young people, nature, and local heritage. This cultural component of the field research contributed to a better understanding of how agricultural practices and local traditions are woven into the history and identity of the community.
