On February 19th, 2025, a group of curious and enthusiastic youngsters had the opportunity to explore the beautiful and picturesque mountain village of Nedousa in the Taygetos mountain range, through a very engaging environmental program organized by the Environmental Education Center of Kalamata, focusing on the local plant life of the area.
Through a variety of activities, they discovered the rich flora and fauna of the region, enjoyed the peace and serenity of nature by the Nedon River, walked across both single-arched and multi-arched stone bridges, and visited the house of Nikitaras, one of the most important heroes of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
The few residents of the village welcomed the students warmly, treating them to delicious homemade sweets and refreshing spring water from the village’s fountains. Together, they shared thoughts about the richness of nature and how people in the past used to live and survive in a self-sufficient way.
