On Septeber 2025, a dynamic youth workshop took place in Kalamata by KANE under the theme “Environmental Protection as a Means of Social Inclusion.” The event brought together young people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to explore how caring for the environment can also strengthen communities, foster inclusion, and promote active citizenship.

The workshop combined interactive activities, discussions, and hands-on experiences that helped participants reflect on the role of nature in their everyday lives. Through group work and outdoor exercises, the young participants discovered how environmental action can become a common ground where everyone—regardless of origin, language, or ability—can contribute meaningfully.

Highlights of the workshop included:

  • Team-building activities in nature, designed to show how collaboration can mirror ecological balance.
  • Creative workshops, where participants expressed their ideas through art, storytelling, and digital tools, emphasizing the link between environmental sustainability and social unity.
  • Dialogue sessions, offering a safe space for youth to share personal stories about inclusion, challenges, and aspirations, all connected to the idea of protecting the planet.

By the end of the day, the young participants had not only gained knowledge about environmental protection but also developed a stronger sense of belonging, solidarity, and empowerment. The workshop demonstrated that safeguarding nature is not just about ecology—it is also about building inclusive communities where every voice matters.

This initiative was part of a wider effort to promote sustainability, equality, and social participation among youth, supported by local educators, community organizations, and European partnerships.
