On April 9, 2024, students and professors from Ovidius University participated in a field research activity titled “Exploring Local Cultural Heritage and the Influence of Tourism on Traditions in Southern Constanța County.” The event marked the beginning of the internship period for students from Cultural Studies – American Studies. The itinerary combined cultural and environmental exploration, including visits to the Mangalia Stud Farm, Vama Veche, Limanu Lake, and the Clos des Colombes Winery. Participants learned about the preservation of local traditions, biodiversity, sustainable tourism, and the winemaking process. The activity provided an opportunity for students to experience learning in the field, connect with local communities, and understand the interaction between natural and cultural heritage. It highlighted the value of interdisciplinary education and the importance of protecting regional identity through responsible tourism and cultural awareness. The participants explored the flora of beach areas and the vegetation around lakes and have identified specimens for the herbarium, such as crambe maritima.
