The Story of Lilac’s Love

The Story of Lilac’s Love

Once upon a time, far away in a mystic land, there was a great kingdom, the Kingdom of Solis. Life was so beautiful in the kingdom and the only thing that disturbed the quiet were the magical creatures of the land. On the northern side of Solis, a small village called Velaris had been established in order to protect the kingdom. Its role was to fend off all the beasts that would come out of the scary Dark Forest. The men of the village were known as fearless warriors that had been fighting against the cruel beasts for millions of years.

In this village, there was a girl named Lili, who would make everyone fall in love with her, because of her astonishing beauty. Her deep purple eyes had a mesmerizing effect that made every girl jealous. Wherever she went, every man would try to impress her by complimenting her or offering her gifts. She would decline all the proposals, as she received only empty promises, which lacked love or passion. Every man wanted Lili only for her beauty, not her soul.

But one day everything changed. The King of Solis sent to Velaris a new captain for the troops of warriors. His name was Ewan and he was one of the bravest and the most powerful warrior that was ever born in the Kingdom of Solis. Ewan was handsome and a well-respected gentleman. The villagers admired him for his courage and his combat skills. He had been victorious in every battle and he had succeeded to protect the kingdom.

When Ewan saw Lili for the first time, a spark ignited between them. It was for the first time that Lili actually felt something when talking to a man. Ewan was hypnotised by Lili’s piercing purple eyes. He felt that he could stare into them for the rest of his days and that would not had been enough. The two of them fell in love and after some time they decided to get married. The love flame was so powerful that everyone thought that they were true soulmates.

Sadly, one day Velaris was attacked by werewolves. Those creatures were so brutal and blood-thirsty that there were few warriors that survived the battle. Unfortunately, Ewan’s braveness costed him greatly, as he died trying to save his fellow comrades and protect the kingdom. Lili was crushed by her husband’s death, as she thought that she would not love that strongly ever and no other man could replace Ewan in her heart.

She would often visit Ewan’s grave and cry next to it for hours until she had no more tears left in her. One day, when she went to Ewan’s grave, Lili saw an old lady standing next to her husband’s tombstone. The old lady told Lili that she could cure her heartbreak and bring back her loved one. In that moment, Lili realized that she was talking to one of the witches of the Dark Forest, but she was not frightened. She learned from her late husband that bravery is the key to fighting such creatures. In fact, Lili was intrigued by the witches’ proposal. The girl knew that those creatures were vile and evil, but she could not resist the temptation of having her husband back in the mortal realm. Therefore, Lili told the witch that she would do or give her anything in order to bring Ewan back from death, even sacrificing herself. In the end, a deal was struck between the two of them.

When Ewan came back to life, he woke up in his and Lili’s cottage. He was confused as he was alone in their bed and he could not find Lili. Ewan could not explain the numbness in his body and the dizziness in his head. Then, suddenly, the memories of his last moments alive came flooding. He could not understand how it was possible for him to be alive again. His confusion was interrupted by the realisation that he had to go find Lili and shower her with all his love. He searched for her in their cottage, but she was not there. Ewan was sure that she was at his grave, as she used to tell him that she would cry everyday next to his tombstone, if death decided to take him away from her.

Ewan ran to the cemetery and went to the deepest part of it, knowing that his grave would be there. When he arrived, there was no sight of Lili, but his grave was covered in some beautiful purple flowers that he had never seen in his life and had the most powerful scent that they had ever smelled. Still, Ewan could not think where Lili might be. Suddenly, when he was trying to find solutions to Lili’s disappearance, the witch came out of nowhere. She told Ewan the deal that the two of them made, which had angered him greatly. He threatened to kill the witch if she did not tell him where his Lili was. The witch laughed and told him that Lili was there with them. Ewan had immediately realised what had happened to Lili. She was transformed by the witch into the purple flowers that covered his grave. The old witch revealed that she promised that she would bring him back in exchange with Lili’s life. Lili had accepted, but she asked the witch if she could leave something behind for Ewan to have. She had decided to create these flowers which would remind Ewan of her, as he would always tell her: “If Heaven smells like love, then our love flower must have a divine fragrance too.”

Hearing this story, Ewan sprinted, trying to attack the witch, but she disappeared into thin air. He fell to the ground and cried for the sacrifice of his beloved. He decided that he would collect some of the flowers and plant them across the Kingdom of Solis and other kingdoms, in order to spread the beautiful flowers, called “Lilac”, so that symbol of their love would spread all across the world and become eternal.

Oriunde mergea, fiecare bărbat încerca să o impresioneze, făcându-i complimente sau oferindu-i cadouri.
